Program Overview
Our Museum Management minor prepares students with any major to connect their interests with a wide variety of institutions including science, history, fashion, or children's museums. Museum work ranges from exhibition design to visitor education to scholarly research to collection management. Students who complete the Museum Management minor are also poised to launch careers in arts administration, archives, private galleries, and auction houses. Students enrolled in the program forge connections through hands-on internships at local museums, including the nationally accredited located on ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ's campus.
Requirements
A student pursuing any major may complete the Museum Management minor by taking the following courses:
- MUSM 216: Introduction to Museum Studies
- ART 202: Controversy and Crisis in Public Art
- COMM 216: Introduction to Strategic Communication
- MUSM 309: Non-Profit Communication
- MUSM 400: Museum Internship (2 or 4 hours)
