¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Film Society sponsors annual French Film Festival at Shreveport's Robinson Film Center
SHREVEPORT, LA — The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Film Society joins the in sponsoring the annual week-long Tournées French Film Festival beginning Friday, November 10. The festival at the RFC’s downtown Shreveport theater runs through Thursday, November 16. All ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ students are admitted free with a student ID.
“We’re excited that we have a wonderful range of contemporary French films, by some of France’s most important directors,” says Dr. Jefferson Hendricks, professor of English at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ and faculty advisor for the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Film Society. “I personally am looking forward to seeing Jean Cocteau’s classic Beauty and the Beast on the big screen! We’re also very much looking forward to meeting the newly-appointed French Consul Vincent Sciama.”
The Tournées Film Festival is made possible with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S., the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée (CNC), the French American Cultural Fund, Florence Gould Foundation and Highbrow Entertainment. Additional support comes from ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Film Society, the Consulate General of France in New Orleans and the Community Foundation of North Louisiana.

Tickets are also available for a special dinner and movie screening on Wednesday, November 15 with the new Consul General of France in Louisiana, Vincent Sciama. ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ students can also earn Passport Points when they attend films featured in the Tournées festival. The College’s Passport Points program helps students fund international study and travel experiences in a number of foreign countries, including France.
